Victory in the Kingdom (Joshua 10)

Pastor Percy Gutteridge opens up Joshua 10, describing the confederacy against Gibeon and the Israelites, and how God fought the five kings as Israel battled against them. Picking up the theme “thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight,” we receive a faith-building glimpse into spiritual warfare. As exciting as all of that is, the teaching that most commended this message to my heart more than thirty years ago was a memorable analogy Pastor Gutteridge shares: the defeat and destruction of the five kings corresponds to the four teachings of the Christian Church on how God deals with sin through sanctification.
